Operation Theatre Technology is a detailed technical occupation in the field of health science. These medical professionals are an important part of the operation unit team who work alongside with the surgeon, anaesthesiologist and nurse in order to provide quality patient care throughout the Surgery Operation Theatre Technologists (OTT) is a healthcare professional who performs pre-Operative Assessment, Pre-Operative preparation of the patient proposed for any surgery, Consent, providing Psychological support to the patient, Intra-Operative preparation of the surgery and Anaesthesia technique, Intra-operative Positioning and Monitoring of the patient during surgical interventions, providing post-operative Care to the patient and Post-Operative management of Pain. The technologist also performs equipment validations, calibrations, quality controls or run-by-run assessment, record maintenance, and daily, weekly, quarterly and annually quality checks of the equipment used in Operation Theatre.
These technicians make sure that every single process in the operation theatre is as secure and flourishing as possible. Their prime duty is to take care of all the work and management of the operation theatre which comprise looking after all the surgical instruments, their sterilisation, preparation of dressing table, operation theatre table, instrument table as well as anaesthesia table. They also look after the drugs necessary for surgery, anaesthetic gases, drapes and all the linen and their sterilisation. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have completed 10+2 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with English at a level not less than a core course as compulsory subjects. A minimum aggregate score of [45]% is required.
